began his undergraduate studies at UCLA where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Sciences and graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He continued his graduate studies at the Northwestern School of Medicine, in Chicago, IL, which at the time was rated the top 10 medical schools in the nation.
